Registering for Online Services

Registering for Online Services

You can now access a variety of services online without having to phone or visit the surgery. Sign up now to GP online services and you will be able to use a website or app to:

  • Order repeat prescriptions
  • Book, check or cancel appointments

Our online services are quick, easy and convenient to use from a smartphone, tablet or computer.

They will save you time and help you take more control of your health, particularly if you have any long-term medical conditions which require regular monitoring and prescriptions.

How to Register for Online Services

The NHS App offers as standard access to Covid pass, medication records and allergies, and from 18th October 2023 for patients over 16, new entries to the medical consultation records.

You can self-register for this system here www.nhsapp.service.nhs.uk/login if you are 13 or over and have valid photo ID.

If you are not able to use the NHS App, you can choose to register for another online method called Patient Access.

Getting started

Please read our Patient Online Services Patient Information Leaflet and complete the WHC Online Access to Medical Records Request Form 2023

Please complete this form and return it to the practice, along with two forms of identification one of which must be photographic.

Access to repeat prescriptions and appointments can be set up within 5 working days. Access to online records may take up to 28 working days (as the GP needs to check the records prior to their release).

Online Access to patients under the age of 16

Unfortunately, we are unable to provide parents access to their children’s record. Children under the age of 16 (normally within the ages of 12-16) will be considered to be “competent Minors” and may give or withhold consent for parents to access their records.  Therefore, we are only allowing patients to view their online medical record if they are aged 16 or over due to confidentiality. This includes Proxy Access.  If you feel you should be able to view your child’s record, please contact the surgery to discuss this.

Proxy access

Patients may choose to use ‘Patient Access’ (online services) such as appointment booking, ordering repeat prescriptions or accessing their records. Patients may choose to share their account credentials with family, friends and carers (including a care home) however, this is not recommended by the practice.

Proxy access is the recommended alternative to sharing login details where a named individual is given their own set of login details for to access the records of another patient.

if you wish to apply for Proxy access, please read our Proxy Access to GP Online Services Leaflet and complete the WHC Proxy Access to Medical Records Request Form 2023

Please complete this form and return it to the practice, along with two forms of identification one of which must be photographic.

Access to repeat prescriptions and appointments can be set up within 5 working days. Access to online records may take up to 28 working days (as the GP needs to check the records prior to their release).
